John De Wever becomes new Marketing Director at The Reference

Ghent-based digital agency The Reference welcomes John De Wever as its new Marketing Director. The vastly experienced marketing and communications expert is joining the management team and will report to CEO Anja Cappelle.

De Wever has years of experience in the telecom, publishing and retail sectors. His previous employers include Proximus, Standaard Uitgeverij, Uitgeverij Lannoo, Standaard Boekhandel - Club and Samsung, where he was Head of Digital Experience & Advertising for the Benelux. De Wever is already a familiar face at The Reference. Between 2014 and 2016 he developed digital strategies for the company, as well as leading digital projects for large clients. 

He is enthusiastic about his new role:

John De Wever succeeds Bart Roofthooft, who becomes Global Head of Marketing Automation & CRM at Emakina Group, the listed group to which The Reference belongs.
